On October 10th 2017, the ALBA Synchrotron is organizing a seminar addressed to companies to inform about the applications of synchrotron light for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and biomedical sector. The event will be held at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), in Madrid.

19/07/2017   The ALBA Synchrotron is a scientific facility that offers, to more than 1,300 users per year, cutting-edge techniques for the characterization of materials, processes, products, etc. that cover a broad spectrum of industrial sectors such as chemistry, energy, environment, advanced materials and, in particular, the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and biomedical sector.

The purpose of the seminar is to inform about the applications of synchrotron light in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and biomedical industry, one of the sectors that uses ALBA's facilities by far. During the day, there will be different examples of studies using synchrotron light that can contribute to the development of new pharmaceutical or dermatological products, the characterization of active principles, the understanding of biological processes and diseases, and the determination of the effects of cosmetics and drugs on the skin, among many others. The real experience of a pharmaceutical company that is a current user of ALBA will be presented as well as the mechanisms to access the services and types of collaboration with the ALBA Synchrotron.

The conference is addressed to responsible and members of the R&D&I teams of pharmaceutical, cosmetic and biomedical companies that wish to know more about the potential of the synchrotron light techniques for their processes or developments.

The attendance is free with compulsory registration before October 7th 2017: https://indico.cells.es/indico/event/126/
