ALBA HOSTS THE MEETING OF THE PACT FOR THE VALLÈS OCCIDENTAL REINDUSTRIALIZATION WITH THE SECRETARY-GENERAL FOR INDUSTRY AND SME

The director of the ALBA Synchrotron, Caterina Biscari, has welcomed the representatives of the Pact for the Vallès Occidental Reindustrialization and has highlighted the role of ALBA as a scientific institution of high international level, as well as its importance in the regional, Catalan and Spanish industrial network.

Cerdanyola del Vallès, 17^th January 2020. In the meeting have participated around eighty people from different local entities, labor unions, universities, companies and research. The Secretary-General for Industry and SME, Raül Blanco; the president of the Regional Council, Ignasi Giménez; the president of the Area for Economic Development, Tourism and Commerce and Counselor of the Barcelona Council, Eva Menor and the mayor of Cerdanyola, Carlos Cordón, have chaired the meeting. There also attended representatives from mayoralties and entities member of the Pact for Reindustrialization.

During the work meeting, they presented the experience of this Pact in the region and four projects to give an effective answer to the new condition and difficulties in the sector. The Vallès occidental asks the Ministry of Industry its cooperation in the crash program for the reindustrialization of the region.

Once the meeting was finished, the attendees could visit and get to know the facilities of ALBA accompanied by the director of the Synchrotron; the Industrial Office responsible, Alejandro Sánchez and the former president of the Executive Commission of ALBA, Ramón Pascual. The President of the Regional Council had a special mention for him due to his labor as the main promoter of the project of creating ALBA, in its beginnings.
